Visitor Parking Information
PARENT PARKING – Please do NOT park in the staff car park (we simply do not have enough parks to do this, and it is an unsafe area for students to walk). Parking is available between the school and the childcare centre. A “kiss and drop” area is located there also.
The preferred area for parents to park is Moore Street (near the swimming lake), with a short stroll across the school oval to the school buildings.
BUS PARKING AFTER SCHOOL – Large numbers of buses accumulate along Park Terrace after school, which is why the use of Moore Street is preferred – it ensures safe traffic flow and safe crossing for students.
NPS has been on its current site since 1952. It moved into the present main building in 1975 and the outside portables were gradual additions as student numbers increased. In 2010, a new building was constructed which houses four classrooms, a computer/art area, a small-group room and a teacher-preparation space. The remaining portables are generally used for NIT subjects and ESL sessions.
The school is set on 5 hectares and projects a feeling of open space. The physical make-up of the school consists of the MAIN building, which houses;
5. resource centre & computer network,
6. open space for activity,
7. 3 single classrooms
8. 2 unit classroom areas.
There are two single classrooms in refurbished portable buildings.
Our Multi-Purpose Hall provides an excellent venue for indoor sports, arts activities, assemblies and community events.
Naracoorte Primary School offers a variety of teaching and learning environments for our students. The school is organised into teams of teachers working collaboratively, so that the curriculum is well planned and co-ordinated.
The school is a member of the Naracoorte Hub, a group of 10 schools and early childhood sites in the local area, and is part of the wider Tatiara/Wrattonbully partnership.
An Out of School Hours Care program operates on the School grounds.
A Dental Clinic is also situated within the school grounds.
