Camps, Excursions, Special Activities, Choir, Sporting Activities

It is school policy that students in Years 5 and 7 go on camps, generally for 4 days and 3 nights. The Year 4 and 6 students have a Big Day Out that requires an early start and an early evening return to school.

An invitation to attend camp is a privilege to be earned by all students. Taking students away is an enormous responsibility for the staff and volunteers. If a child often misbehaves, has demonstrated that they are not willing to cooperate when asked or displays a poor attitude, they pose a risk to the safety and welfare of themselves and other students.
These students will not be invited on camp.

A general consent form needs to be signed (provided with this package) for your child/ren to take part in local sporting and educational excursions. A special consent form will be sent home for trips away from the local area.

Special Activities

From time to time children will need to bring money to pay for something special – excursion/performance/bus fares etc. Please make sure that this money is brought in a sealed, clearly named and marked envelope.

Mrs Heidi Yelland organises and conducts a school Choir, with all interested students from Years 4 to 7. The choir takes part in annual Festivals in Mt Gambier and in Adelaide.

Sporting Activities

The school has an extensive sporting program, beginning with Daily Fitness for all classes. Sport is a normal part of a class program. School-based teams also operate on weekends, with parent support.

Our school manages the South East Cross Country Championships each year. We are also actively involved in SAPSASA for Years 6 & 7.
